What to expect

The clinic works with patients of all ages and with a wide range of health conditions, from rehabilitation from an acute injury like a sprained ankle, to managing chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis. They provide education and advice for health promotion, disease and injury prevention.

Payment and referral

The David Braley Sport Medicine and Rehabilitation Centre is a private clinic. Their physicians hold designated specializations. A referral from a family physician is required. Appointments with physicians are covered by OHIP.

Allied health professional appointments such as with chiropractors, osteopaths, massage therapists, dieticians, etc. are not covered by OHIP and require payment at the time services are rendered.

McMaster’s benefit plans for retirees provide coverage for these types of paramedical services, within limits. Coverage varies depending on employee group and year of departure. Retiree benefit plan information is available at the Human Resources web site or from Human Resources at 905-525-9140, ext. 22247.
